obviously, i am exagerrating. i just noticed that i haven’t had any new outfit posts for so long so i decided to make one today.
i’m too lazy to mention the clothes i’m wearing, but it’s in lookbook and you can find it here. and while you’re at it, can you hype it for me? thanks :)
this photo was taken a month ago. i was so busy that i had no time to blog about it. i wore it to the Nursing Jurisprudence Seminar that my other classmates hosted. i’ve had a lot of compliments about it so here i am posting.
i’ve had this obsession with lace for quite some time now, but since my cashwad has not allowed me to purchase one at the moment (which reminds me, i have to find work!), i have to make do of what i see. Thank God my mom has bought this top two years ago. yes, it’s two years old. note: do not throw anything away.
the title says it all. the girlfriends (nica and poly) stayed over last week at our house after attending our other girlfriend’s (kim) pre-graduation party, i was supposed to go but i wasn’t feeling too well to travel. instead, the girls told me that they’d stay over at our house for the night so they could attend the commencement program the following day.
do you know what three girls do when a DSLR is around?
the same night, we had ice cream and watched Crazy Little Thing Called Love, it’s a Thai movie. it’s very nice. will write reviews when not too lazy. After a fun filled night, we finally went to bed.
the next day, my mom woke us up because she knew we had plans of attending our friends’ graduation ceremony. unfortunately, the DSLR has not been a very good influence to us and we ended up camwhoring, again.
obviously, i took this photo since there were only three of us inside the room.
and then poly joins in the fun! seriously, guys? most all of the messages in my inbox are from my boyfriend, and yes, we are the googly-sweetie-mushy kind of couple when it comes to texting (pliz to not be judging us), that is why these girls over here have grins up to their ears because they find our texts amusing. salamat, mga kaibigan!
meet poly. the uber kind woman who never gets mad and always leaves us rolling on the floor and laughing with her crazy antics.
and this is nica, the most talented, creative and intelligent in our group. i’ve been mentioning a lot about her so i don’t think there’s need to elaborate more. and yes, she is the always-and-forever-grand-entrance-bestfriend. :D
and then, poly had this idea of making a mini person. by then it was already 10am and we still haven’t taken a bath. the graduation rites were about to end but we still had plans of attending. HAHAHA!
facial expression, win.
after that, we had breakfast and finally took our lazy (and vain) asses and dragged them to the bathroom.
question: were we able to attend our friends’ graduation? NO. we went straight ahead to kimmy’s after grad lunch party. kapal eh. haha!
and i could choose a designer to do my gown, i’d probably choose Vera wang.
or my forever favorite (because she’s a filipina), Monique Lhuillier:
i’ve heard so many couples getting married and planning on getting married so i got into this zone where i daydreamed about mine. every girly-girl out there wants to have the perfect princess moment when they get married, that is why i immediately thought about these three designers when i was imagining my own wedding (don’t worry mom, it won’t be too soon!). their dresses and gowns make every woman feel like a fairytale princess.

saw burlesque last week with my bestfriends. for someone who loves to sing and dance as much as i do, i enjoyed the movie so much. it’s not a secret that christina is (or was, considering how, uhm, horizontally challenged she is now), what surprised me the most is how great of a dancer she is!
my favorite part in the movie?
ali: *staring at nikki*
nikki: didn’t your mom ever tell you that it’s rude to stare?
ali: i’m so sorry. it’s just that you’re so beautiful!
nikki: in that case, screw your mom and stare away!
ali: you’re so beautiful. no one will ever know.
nikki: know what??
ali: that you’re a dude. *walks away*
it didn’t exactly go that way but it’s how i remember it. sooo. let it go.
HI BEA!!!! bcause you are random, im gonna ask you random questions from here until eternity... ARE YOU READY?? Question 1 is quite easy... hahaha
QUESTION 1: why do you like "BOOTS" too much???
YOU CAN ASK ME ALSO... hehehe :)))
KALOKA KA JHE!hahaha! i like boots because they slim my MUSCULAR calves! asar ka! hahaha! and they’re not boring! bakit ikaw, don’t you like boots??
philly cheese steak. i haven’t actually tried one before but i’ve heard so much about it. *must run to nearest subway, asap!*
porterhouse steak. medium done with mashed potato and gravy on the side.
chicken schnizel. my favorite is from don henrico’s. the more i look at food photos, the more i go hungry. >.<
shawarma (with lots and lots of garlic sauce). btw, the flower festival in baguio should have been called shawarma festival, instead. everywhere you look, there’s a shawarma stall. no, really.
chocolate covered strawberries. the really big and sweet ones. argh. i’m so hungry.
apple pie. i haven’t tasted an apple pie my ENTIRE life. but it looks so good. i want one.
oreo cheesecake. the best one is from starbucks. i know it’s cliche but its the truty. i mean it. cross my heart.
lastly but, DEFINITELY, not the least:
FRIED ICE CREAMMMMM! the real ones, not the ones they sell in malls in those stalls where they put some mixture in the blender then put it in a frozen pan. not that one. that one sucks and the line is too long.
Sa Kabilang Ibayo: Isang Musikal Halaw sa Epikong Ibalon
Before i start, let me clarify something: this is NOT a review, it’s a BLOG post. I’m not a very good critique and i don’t have deep words so I can’t actually write a review. what i’m doing is merely GUSHING about how good the production team did on this play, especially my best friend, Nica, who was on the musical team (*coughcough* i was not forced to say this, nica is a very great musician. *coughcough* help meeeee!).
Last February, nica invited me to watch a play that she, her classmates and advisers have been working hard on for the past few months. at first, i had no idea what the play was about, let alone that it was a musical.
February 24 was my vacant day so i immediately decided to go to baguio and watch the play. to cut the long story short, we went to UPB (University of the Philippines Baguio), got tickets, and waited for the play to start.
The ticket says, “Sa Kabilang Ibayo, Isang Musikal Halaw sa Epikong Ibalon”. This play is a musical theatre play based from the Bicolano epic, Ibalon. To read more about it, read this article that nica also wrote, isn’t she awesome?? (now can you please take the gun off my head?)
The play started with a dance, which got me all giddy, for some reason. probably because i haven’t watched many musical plays before. no, actually, i haven’t seen ANY musical play until this one.
The part that got me excited the most? Micah’s part as Kadugnung.
If you haven’t read the article yet, Kadugnung is a common villager that narrates everything that happens in Ibalon. She does this by singing. So paki-imagine lang ha, bawat transitions nung play, kumakanta siya, so, ang haba nun, diba?! While I was watching her perform, I was like, “Dang, girl! You can sing!” (btw, Micah, is Nica’s sister. Sabi nga nila, “sila na, sila na ang musically inclined!”). Although she was not the lead artist, i enjoyed her performance the most. (Susunod kay Handiong, kasi ang gwapo niya. aaaah anlandi. joke lang.)
*Handiong (holding the kudyapi, portrayed by Fortunato Galang, Jr) and Bantog (Fidel Igama).*
*Junelly Libao on her exceptional performance as Oriol. Random Fact: i think she looks like vanessa hudgens*
I also loved Mariah Rueda as Hilan. Lalo na yung tawa niya, ay nako! Bilib na bilib ako! And of course, Paulino Cuison as the stuttering Larion has performed well. They’re both effective kontra-bidas.
Oh and there’s this one artista, the one who was accompanying the girl who turned to stone, who made me gasp because of his acting. On the part where he was telling the crowd what he saw and about the dangers that came, napanganga ako ng BONGGA! ANG GALING EVER!
Overall, I enjoyed the play, VERY MUCH! The whole time i was watching, my heart was racing with excitement. It was a smart move to make the songs pop and modern so the viewers could relate, especially because it was an epic and could bore the audience to tears kung walang gimmick! Nakakatuwa din yung dance moves!
Everyone must be congratulated on the job well done, the actors, musicians, choreographers, directors, costume designers, lights and sounds controllers (okay this sounds lame because i don’t know what they’re called, deal with it.), props men, LAHAT NA, pati audience, because they supported this play (kasama ako dun, shempre.).
I hope they could do this again so that others may watch, too.At sana magpa-audition sila pati sa mga outsiders. *ehem!ehem!* Echos!
At dahil blog ko ito, magpo-post ako ng pictures ko. Yeheyyyy!
*with nica (she played the piano and the organ, chaka yung instrument na pag binabalikbaliktad mo eh nagrerainfall yung tunog. malay ko ba kung anong tawag don.)pinaupo ako kasi naka-heels ako at nanliliit daw sha.*
the uber-talented-musician. o ayan, iba nanaman ang titulo mo. sa last post ko iba nanaman. KUNIN MO NA LAHAT NG TITULO SA BUONG MUNDO, SAKIM!
so that ends my post for today. off to bed, i have a breakfast date tomorrow.
last week i went to baguio to meet my bestfriends, nica and poly. since it was panagbenga season, anyway, we decided to check what was around the city. btw, panagbenga is the flower festival in baguio that happens every february.
i met poly first, and since we were famished, we had lunch at teriyaki boy while waiting for our always-and-forever-grand-entrance-bestfriend, nica.
our philly cheese steak sushi. sooooo ggoooood!
poly’s order. forgot what it’s called. but it is super yummy.
my teriyaki chicken. the serving was sooooo dami that it was so hard to make ubos. lol.
polyanna and i. sorry, bad photo quality. corby camera. ‘nuff said.
no signs of nica yet, so we went around botiques and saw this pink flouncy skirt. i HAD to try it on. but it was waaaaaayyyy to flouncy. pass!
finally, nica came with chuck (don’t ask me who he is, i don’t think i’m allowed to say. :|). they haven’t had lunch yet so we went to McDonalds, and since i’m still SOOOO full, i ordered a caramel sundae…which melted…and i ended up playing with… after the 4pm lunch, we went to session road. every panagbenga season, they close up the whole road and stands start to show-up from nowhere! i ended up purchasing fake earrings (that broke off easily so i have no photo!). then straight to burnham park…
where we got henna tattoos, yo! we’re hardcore, like that! (l-r: nica’s, mine, poly’s and chuck’s)
*btw, that’s chuck having his henna. he’s so funny, he was grimacing on the process of having it done, akala mo totoo eh!
we checked out the market encounter at burnham right after, we saw a photobooth. aba shempre, go na agad! i can’t upload pictures yet though, i don’t have the file yet. wala kaming scanner eh, poverty.
we got so tired from all the walking so we went to bambenny’s for dinner. i swear i could have vomited from all the food, but i can’t stop eating!
potato tornado. try saying that 10 times.
poly’s lasagna. some of the cheese got stuck on the sides. you know when cheese melts and then, when left hanging, suddenly gets hard and sticks to the side? it happened here. naging minahan yung lasagna nipoly.
this meal is actually called “diet begins tomorrow”. it’s got 2 fried chickens, pasta and potato-tornado on the side. diet really begins tomorrow!
the rest of the night was fun. after all the activities were done, we headed home to nica’s apartment for a sleepover, but not until poly and i got this:
yes, it’s a couple’s toothbrush, but instead we named it the bestfriend toothbrush. poly wasn’t able to bring her toothbrush so we decided to buy one since mine needed to be replaced, too.
that ends my panagbenga post for today. but come to think about it, i should’ve wrote “bestfriends bonding” as a title since there’s really nothing in here about panagbenga. i am so misleading. lol.
ps. watched burlesque that night, too. will post reviews for those who haven’t seen it yet. :)
